Rankine Cycle Project

Rankine Cycle Project

April 2021

The Martins Creek Power plant in Lower Mount Bethel township is situated on the Delaware River about 9 miles  upstream from Easton, PA. The plant has two identical 850 MW steam power generation units that can be fired using either oil or natural gas. It operates between the pressure 2400 psia and 60 psia and provides high pressure steam to the turbine at 1000 F.

I assumed that the plant is operating on the IDEAL Rankine Cycle using isentropic pumps and non-isentropic turbines that have an isentropic efficiency of 70%. Using this data, I had to perform a series of tasks that are listed on the rubric HERE.
