Stapler Design Project
Stapler Design Project
August 2020
This project was split into four reports. I was required to disassemble a stapler into separate parts. The first report consisted of orthogonal and isometric sketches of each part of the stapler, with size and location dimensions. The second report required SolidWorks drawings of each part of the stapler. Then, I had to create an assembled and exploded view of the assembly. After this, I created section view drawings for all parts. Lastly, I created production drawings including a title block, dimensions, and notes for each part.
The third report consisted of creating GD&T annotations for the simplest part of my stapler. I introduced tolerances and specified three datums requiring at least two views. The final report consisted of redesigning the stapler so that it retains its elegant form but also will allow the stapler to stand on its end on a table top.
